In an era when autotuning has effectively masked the tone-deaf caterwauling of countless numbers of pop “vocalists,” it’s nice to hear a singer who can, you know, sing (are you listening, Ke$ha?). When Josh Groban breaks out that creamy baritone on a squishy pop ballad like “You Are Loved,” you stop loving that his style is perhaps too adult-contemporary for serious music fans, too popera for classical harmony lovers, and you just rinse in the wealthy glow of his voice.
Groban can still drag in crowd, as he showed to a well-attended concert at American Airlines Center on Monday late hours. What’s fascinating about his demographic is, there is no demographic; we sat next to another lgbtq+ couple; a middle-aged linear couple sat in front of us; teenagers squealed at the 30-year-old mophead from floor seats; and an 8-year-old attended with her mom, a Hispanic woman in her 30s. Guys and gals wore Groban T-shirts (they pawed at him so much as he worked his way repeatedly through the throng, I thought he might wanna rename himself Josh Gropin’). It was an ecumenical musical trial, with everyone there knowing what they were getting and walking away satisfied.

Josh Groban knows there are people out there who think he is gay.
He’s not losing sleep over it.
‘Honestly, if I were gay, I would contain had no problem saying it from day one,’ Groban tells PrideSource. ‘I would have nothing to hide if that were the case.’
He added: ‘People have speculated, have wanted to speculate – whatever, fine. I’m not homosexual, but if I were, I don’t view it as a bad thing. If I were, I’d say, “OK, fine, speculate all you want and let’s talk about it.”‘
Groban, 34, dated actress January Jones from 2003 to 2006 and has been dating actress Kat Dennings of Two Broke Girls fame since October 2014.
So how does he endure so non-threatened by such rumors?
‘I’ve grown up with gay friends; my parents have had great lgbtq+ friends. I come from such an open-minded family background.

Despite progressing speculation, Josh Groban isn't gay -- and not even Ryan Gosling can change that.
"If I was gonna be gay, that would've been the moment. That was probably my greatest test, and I failed," the 34-year-old singer (and sometimes) actor says of co-starring opposite Gosling in 2011’s romantic comedy Crazy, Stupid, Love.

In a new interview with ETonline contributor Chris Azzopardi for PrideSource, Groban gets candid about continuing rumors about his sexuality. I'm not gay, but if I were, I don't view it as a bad thing," he says.
Not that the singer, who releases Stages on April 28, isn’t up for some gay fun from time to time, at least when it comes to drag queens.
