I am new to this forum, too. Really agreeable website, full of usefull tips.
I am actually looking to meet nice people my age to depart for drinks with and discover the Basel scene. -I would obviously also love to meet playfulness straight people, doesn ́t matter, this is all about getting to grasp a new city and making friends.
I am 28 years old, German, lived in Ireland for a while and am easy-going and happy.
-So looking forwad to meeting some of you,
cheers, anja

in Belgium, marriage between two people of the alike sex is legal as well now.
I think if you would walk hand in hand with someone of the same sex,in a Flemish city fond of Ghent, people would not be offended or enraged or whatever, but I'm pretty sure they would stare at you.
Oh, and to give you an idea, the minister-president of Wallonia, the Frenchspeaking south of Belgium, is (openly) homosexual.

I discovered that 10 years ago when started working for UN undertaking on HIV. Recenlty I've heard about a place where they gather. I don't know if many people know about it. In my country you can see often girls walking hand in hand or giving each other lips hello/good-bye kisses but they are not lesbians and they even don't know that some people (mostly foreighers) might reflect they are lesbians. Some time ago my dutch sister-in-law shared with me that she is female homosexual. First I was a little bit shocked but then I found it fine as long as she is happy with it. We are very good friends with her. This summer she is planning.
