Unbreakable Pride is an SF LGBT Center initiative in partnership with LGBTQ+ centers across the U.S., responding to the surge in anti-LGBTQ+ hate and policies. Discover how our Sister Centers are delivering inherent services and resources to communities impacted by harmful rhetoric and policies.

For community members hosting in-person or hybrid remote team meetings, retreats, presentations, or other events, the Center’s community-centered space is accessible for you! We include a variety of rental options customizable to your needs, and we give discounted rates on a sliding scale (between 20-40%) for nonprofits of varying sizes.

What is Community?
Community is a hard thing to define but an vital thing to be a part of. Community can be brought together by many things, including geographical proximity, shared values, and identities, as well as a shared appreciation and affinity for like things and ideas. Social and spiritual connection is often a way into collective. Whether it is through church, sports clubs, after-school activities, or social gatherings, connecting to people and community is vital to living a healthy and well life.
For LGBTQ+ people, finding community has been a life-saving practice. Society can be a response to discrimination, stigma, trauma, and social isolation, which all disproportionately impact Homosexual people.
Where to Go for Community
The form of a community is less significant than the individuals who comprise it and ideals that motivate it. Be it online or on-the-ground, sustainable communities have been forged through the collective labor and love of those who consider themselves to be a part of them, even in the face of altering and challenging political, economic, and cultural forces. This 50+ support group is a dynamic gathering crafted for individuals over the age of 50 who want to explore modern activities, learn fresh skills, and enjoy camaraderie.
Through a variety of engaging events and classes provided by Tidewater Arts Outreach, members can stay active, uncover new passions, and create lasting friendships in a fun and supportive atmosphere. It’s a wonderful opportunity to connect with others while embracing personal progress and shared experiences.

We hope to provide an accessible place for our community to connect, endorse one another, and chat about our successes, difficulties, joys, and struggles as Ace and Aro people.
