And yet, of course, there are still boys — and by the looks of them, they’re good. It's day four of the eight-day championship, and the juvenile boys — the lowest competitive level, most of them between ages 10 and 13 — are training at the Skating Club of Boston's frigid and charmless rink. Even in their leggings and training jackets, the boys seem distinctly feminine, perhaps because they're younger and more flexible than the top male skaters. They're doing moves that are often reserved for women, layback spins and spirals, curving their arms and cocking their wrists. One boy spots his upright spin, whipping his head to confront the same wall with each rotation, a travel classic to ballet but atypical in skating. Another pulls his leg up behind his head while he's spinning, arching his back into a Biellmann position. They swing their arms and exaggerate their facial expressions, gaping at one another's double axels or pressing their lips flat in concentration. They're young enough that they still glance around when they fall, checking who saw.

Their mothers watch from the sides of the rink, clenching their mittens without looking at each other. There are very few fathers. They're

    Non-Monogamy With Lisa Dawn Hamilton

I&#;m in the Solo studio with a sex researcher, sex educator, psychology professor, host of the podcast Do We Grasp Things? and most importantly, a Solo listener. This is a dream interview. Lisa Dawn Hamilton, welcome.

Thank you. It&#;s a lovely intro.

This is a fun episode that you made happen. We&#;re going to do a minuscule quid pro quo. After we tape, I will be a guest, although I may not switch seats. I may still stay in this seat for your episode of Do We Know Things in which we&#;re going to talk about myths of single living and so on. For readers, if you&#;d like Lisa Dawn, which I&#;m sure you will, check out her podcast. I am non-monogamous with podcasts. Compete around on me. I want to start by talking about your encounter as a listener. That&#;s wonderful. How did yo

Hamilton Video on Staying UMC Gets New Attention

    Baptist News Global

United Methodists do not face a “binary choice,” the pastor of the denomination’s largest church in America told his congregation last spring, foreshadowing the schism that has since become full-blown.

A video of Adam Hamilton, pastor of Church of the Resurrection in suburban Kansas City, speaking with his congregation about the future of the denomination has begun circulating once again as hundreds of churches are leaving The Combined Methodist Church to connect the new Global Methodist Church.

While those who advocate leaving the UMC often portray the debate as an all-or-nothing mandate on LGBTQ issues, it’s not that easy, Hamilton said.

“I don’t think this is this binary choice.”

“I don’t ponder this is this binary choice. I think there are conservative Christians who have gay kids who say, ‘I want a church that’s going to welcome my kid.’ And I think there are progressive Christians who are ready to embrace queer marriage and are more progressive on theology who might be more conservative on other social issues.”
